Many small business owners and entrepreneurs are still trying to navigate the social media space while balancing limited time and resources. We're here to help. Join us for our "fall semester" – a three-week series of social media workshops October 28, November 4 and 11.
During these sessions, you'll learn the fundamentals and best practices necessary to effectively use social media tools for business – helping you extend your online presence, better connect with customers, and grow leads. We'll emphasize key tools like Google Reader, blog publishing platforms, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Foursquare.

Coming to a speaking gig near you
I will be keynoting FreelanceCamp Des Moines on Saturday, October 23 at Foundry Coworking. This barcamp-style event is open to freelance professionals, writers, web developers, small business owners and anyone interested in becoming a free agent. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is included in the event registration, as well as a one-year membership to Freelance Pros, a local advocacy group for freelancers. Oh, did I mention there's free beer? Hope to see you there.

On Thursday, November 18 I'll be near Iowa's east coast speaking at the AAF:CRIC (Cedar Rapids - Iowa City) luncheon. If you're in that part of the state, swing by!
For some reason, AMA Iowa decided to invite me back on Wednesday, December 1 to share my 10 predictions about the future of social media, what we'll be calling it next year, and how it will impact marketing, communications and traditional media over the next decade. So let's pack the room and blow the doors off the Hilton Garden Inn.
